    Superb

Nice view of the valley. Large tube and room. Freshly painted. If you had your own lap top, the internet was free. Biscuits and tea was provided in the room. A 15 minute walk to town .Take the park walk across the road. 25 minutes to the tube. Take the park walk to Helham street, that shaves off minutes. Got the travelcard for 8 pounds so could use public transportation all day. Had a bar and purchased breakfast.

Communiation from the desk was confusing at times. Had to ask twice about complimentary things. May be a language thing. No spa .

    Good

Ideal location for a break as a base, easy to travel to City via tube if you want at low cost, and lots of rural locations within easy reach. Epping high street offers many good places to eat.

The manner in whih we were first greeted by the receptionist on duty, Several times when we returned to the reseption desk no one there. ( Have to say the young lady on duty when we checked out was lovely.Despite being told internet was available we were not able to use it. ( no reason found). Very limited channels on TV. Kettle switch missing and felt this unsafe! Corridor outside rooms, is far to noisy, you can hear people up and down all the time, (like loose floorboards, but it is the hole area. This we feel should be a Motel, not a hotel, and although we booked through you with discount, this hotel in normal circumstances is overpriced.

    Very good

It is near to my office. Rooms are large and the WiFi was efficient without need to register and enter passwords etc .

    Leaving it

the bed clothes were dirty with hair from the previous occupant, no mini bar seen in the room at the time, generally the hotel reminded me of a motel in the 70s. Breakfast was extremely poor for the money asked-fried egg broken, cold sausage, microwaved baked beans and tomotoes, the potatoes I think were tastless and straight out of the packet into the microwave-generally a very poor breakfast which was left. The staff although friendly did not put themselves out as you would expect in other hotels I have stayed in. They kept dis-appearing in the bar to areas behind the bar and you had to waite until they returned.

    Good

Staff are friendly especially on reception. Superior rooms OK and fairly priced- ours was located at the back of the hotel so very quiet.

Bar closes far too early (Saturday 00.15, Sunday 2200!) No food served during the day when we asked on Monday. Beds are soft so may not suit some people. Not somewhere to go as a 'destination hotel' but if you need to be in Epping for any reason it's adequate.

    Good

Easy to find and ideal for getting into London.

Very poor selection for evening meal, went down for evening meal at 7pm and found only limited bar menu available. restaurant was not open it was already set for breakfast. The food we did receive was not good, lettuce was old and brown around base area, bread was dry and obviously past it's best. The room we were in could do with decorating, bathroom ceiling had at some point been damaged and it was just left with some kind of filler.

The room I had was in the so called 'Executive' section and was large.

No air conditioning, grubby bathroom, only 4 channels on the TV, very poor soundproofing both from road noise and other guests, radiator with no working thermostat, poor lighting in the room, charge £2 for 30 mins internet access if you don't have wifi, poor greeting and check-out from reception staff, fixed shower head rather than on flexible hose, etc etc

The location - its just a 10 minute walk into Epping

The room we stayed in was a bit tired and shabby - the trouser press fell off the wall just as we touched it - it had obviously been noticed but had just been hung back on. The lighting in the bathroom and the general feel was depressing, the shower curtain had mould on it and there was a very bad burn mark on the writing table. Also the breakfast staff on the saturday morning not very polite and seemed to find everything a problem including us wanting breakfast even though it wasn't in our room tarrif and we knew we needed to pay for it!! Also the tv picture was poor and only had analogue tv.

    Superb

The superior room was at the back of the hotel well away from traffic and so was quiet. It was spacious and comfortable with good facilities.

The dining room was pleasant enough but the full English breakfast was over-cooked and was only lukewarm.

    Fabulous

the care and friendlyness of staff and management

friendly staff, room was not ready by 2pm, but was offered a courtesy drink, moved in at 2.30pm, a problem with shower next morning, was moved immediatly to another room. Perfect service, great location for London, tube station is Epping

    Good

Hotel was functional and staff were friendly and efficient. I thought it was a little expensive for what was provided.

I thought it was petty and unnecessary to charge 20p for supplying a newspaper.

It was very convenient for the event we were attending

When we arrived at 12 noon although we accepted our room would not be ready, the coffee we ordered took 30 mins to arrive. The common areas looked tired

We felt that the staff were welcoming, polite and helpful. We liked the location as we were visiting family in Loughton and the hotel was quite close by. The cooked breakfast was quite good.

Yes. We were dissappointed with the sight of dirty trays left outside rooms on our arrival and they were still there when we left. The decor of the entrance to rooms was dirty and of fputting. There was no hot water in the evening and only one light working in the bathroom. We expected more for a superior room.

I liked the fact it was near to North Weald Airfield which is why we went.

The hotel is very tired and could do with an overhaul. The comunal areas are very dirty and the anex where my kids slept was very cold as they had all the windows in the corridor open but if you tried to close them the whole of the UPVC wall moved so we had to leave them and they were very cold all night as the radiator would not work. Our room was ok but the bed sloped in the middle. I also found that doors to cupboards were left open showing how grubby it was and the stacked up towels and bedding, Someone had propped a door open with a fire extinguisher which I did not think was right. The towels had holes and had black on them, breakfast was ok nothing special and my juice glass smelled. A very tired hotel that needs a bit of TLC
